Suntory PepsiCo Thailand Joins Forces with Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) to Organize “One Suntory Helping Hands” Activity, Emphasizing the Corporate Value of “Giving Back to Society”

September 21, 2023

Bangkok, 21 September 2023 - Two prominent companies under the Suntory Group, Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of products under Suntory and PepsiCo brands in Thailand, and Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd., manufacturer and distributor of BRAND's Essence of Chicken, BRAND's Bird's Nest, and BRAND's Plant Essences, jointly launched the first "One Suntory Helping Hands" initiative. As part of this collaborative effort, employees from both companies raised over 600,000 Baht. These funds were used to support water coolers equipped with filtration systems to schools in need across Rayong, Saraburi, and Chachoengsao provinces. Moreover, volunteers from the two companies conducted CSR activities in those areas. Additionally, a portion of the raised funds was donated to the Donor Milk Bank (DMB) at the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health under the Thailand Children's Hospital to aid underprivileged children.

Ms. Piengchit Sriprasart, Chief People & Culture and Corporate Affairs Officer of Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, "Suntory PepsiCo Thailand held its first 'Helping Hands' activity in 2017, which has since become an annual tradition deeply embedded in our corporate culture. The primary aim is to inspire our employees to contribute their volunteer efforts to benefit society and foster positive change in the communities where we operate. In line with our corporate value of 'Giving Back to Society,' over the past seven years, the company has consistently provided opportunities for our employees to organize fundraising activities, with the aim to support underprivileged schools and charitable organizations in local communities. In 2023, for our 7th 'Helping Hands' activity, we are delighted to partner with Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd. for the first 'One Suntory Helping Hands' initiative. This marks a significant commitment from both Suntory companies to conduct business harmoniously with our commitment to support Thai society."

The "One Suntory Helping Hands" activity, jointly organized by Suntory PepsiCo Thailand and Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand), kicked off with a series of fundraising activities at the "One Suntory Bring & Buy" event held under the theme "Phi Chuen Ban, Nong Chuen Jai (We are Happy, Children are Happy)." These activities included booths where fellow employees sold a variety of items, auction, and the sale of charity lottery tickets. These efforts successfully raised over 600,000 baht. A portion of the proceeds was used to purchase water coolers equipped with filtration systems for six schools: 1) Ban Pluak Daeng School, Pluak Daeng District, Rayong Province; 2) Ban Huai Prap School, Pluak Daeng District, Rayong Province; 3) Nikhom Sang Ton Eng School 9, Nikhom Phatthana District, Rayong Province; 4) Wat Nong Phak Chi School, Nong Khae District, Saraburi Province; 5) Bueng Thep Paya School, Bang Nam Priao District, Chachoengsao Province; and 6) Klongsabudjak School, Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan Province. The funds raised were also allocated to replacing new water filters at 13 locations in Saraburi, including schools, hospitals, special education centers, and life skills promotion and development centers. These places face budget constraints when it comes to offering access to clean drinking water. The donated water coolers equipped with filtration systems and upgraded filters guarantee clean drinking water for the public, greatly improving their quality of life.

Furthermore, Suntory PepsiCo Thailand and Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) donated a portion of the funds raised to the Donor Milk Bank (DMB) at the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health under the Thailand Children's Hospital to support feeding breast milk to babies, especially premature and sick babies.

Ms. Natthanicha Worawannaseth, Senior Vice President of Corporate Functions, Suntory Beverage & Food Thailand and Indochina, said, "On behalf of Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand), we are delighted to collaborate with Suntory PepsiCo Thailand to launch our first 'One Suntory Helping Hands' initiative. Over the years, our company has consistently engaged in public benefit activities, including our partnership with the National Blood Center of the Thai Red Cross Society for the 'BRAND'S Young Blood' project, where university students were encouraged to donate blood. We have also donated BRAND's products to hospitals and various foundations as part of the 'Create Good Health with BRAND' project. Hence, our involvement in volunteer activities alongside Suntory PepsiCo Thailand holds significant importance, enabling us to make an even greater impact on society. This collaboration strongly reinforces Suntory Group's corporate value of 'Giving Back to Society.'"
