(Bangkok 18 December 2023) PepsiCo Service Asia Co., Ltd. (PepsiCo Thailand) and Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. joined hands with GMM Show, under GMM Music Co., Ltd., in establishing a new benchmark at the biggest music festival in Thailand, the 13th Pepsi Presents Big Mountain Music Festival during 9-10 December 2023, at The Ocean Khao Yai in Nakhon Ratchasima province enhancing the entire of waste management through the “Munz Mai Ting” (Enjoy and Reduce Waste) campaign with a great collaboration from over 70,000 music festival goers, by throwing at the right place and segregating in the right bin. All waste generated during the event was recycled or utilized, marking a significant waste reduction in landfill. This achievement is an important step towards an “Eco-Friendly Music Festival” or the Thailand’s music festival that cares for the environment.

Mr. Ashish Joshi – Chief Executive Officer, Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said, "One of the best waste management strategies is recycling waste into raw materials again or so-called closed-loop management, especially for well segregated PET plastic bottles and aluminium cans that can be recycled into clean raw materials to produce new bottles and cans, in countless-times. This is why the collaboration was established to organize the ‘Munz Mai Ting’ campaign in the Pepsi Presents Big Mountain Music Festival this year, in accordance with the company's sustainable packaging management policy, which encourages the use of recycled plastic bottles, also known as rPET bottles, to minimize the use of virgin plastics and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. And, most importantly, to reinforce the corporate values of 'Growing for Good', namely conducting business while taking of society and environment.”

The event's waste management campaign “Munz Mai Ting” has enhanced the benchmark of music festival to be fun while being responsible for the environment.
"The Big Mountain Music Festival this year marks the beginning of the Eco-Friendly Music Festival, which is the trend of music festival, worldwide. We, the organizer of Thailand's biggest music festival, would like to thank our fans for their great cooperation. It was not very easy for the event that has over 60,000-70,000 participants but everyone took their parts in proper segregating and disposing waste in designated bins located throughout the event area. Everyone was aware of their roles and responsibilities taking care of the environment. GMM Show under GMM Music, is committed to driving good campaigns that have a positive impact on the environment," Mr. Yuthana concluded.
"The Geen," an environmental communication and management company, who handled waste management under the “Munz Mai Ting” campaign, specified that there were more than 200 dedicated staff and volunteers stationed across all 50-waste segregation and disposal locations distributed throughout the event area. These stations were designed to segregate four categories of waste including PET plastic bottles, aluminium cans, food waste, and general waste. The Geen’s staff provided guidance on proper waste segregation as the first step towards effective waste management, which would be easier and faster.
During the two-day event, 1,795 kilograms of used PET bottles, 1,075 kilograms of aluminium cans, 705 kilograms of food waste, and 1,460 kilograms of general waste were segregated and delivered to their destinations for proper recycling and utilization.
