Bangkok - Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Company Limited, a manufacturer and distributor of beverages under the Suntory and PepsiCo brands in Thailand, has reinforced its commitment in conducting business while taking care of society and the environment under the vision of “Growing for Good”, by promoting the increase of PET collection for recycling. If the post-consumer PET bottles are cleanly segregated, they will be circulated to produce Recycled PET bottles or called “rPET bottles”. It is fundamental to build the circular economy. Suntory PepsiCo Thailand led by Ms. Wipawan Tasanapreechachai, Head of Corporate Affairs, has recently raised the public awareness on the importance of post-consumer packaging segregation. The company provided 40 PET bottle collection bins located across the Red Cross Fair 2022, during 8-18 December 2022, at Lumpini Park. Representatives from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration who received such bins are Ms. Woranuch Suaykakaow, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment and Mr. Panuwat Onthes, Director of Waste Management Service Division, the Office of Solid Waste and Sewage Management.
Providing the PET bottle collection bins at the Red Cross Fair 2022 resulted from the company’s realizing on the importance of post-consumer packaging segregation, which is in line with the company’s Packaging Sustainability Management policy. The company is committed to design and use the eco-friendly packaging, namely clear and colorless PET bottles that are 100% recyclable as well as promoting the proper post-consumer packaging management to increase the amount of PET bottles for recycling. When certified by the Food and Drug Administration on safety assessment, they could be produced as clean and high-quality rPET bottles, one of the sustainable food packaging.
