Suntory PepsiCo Thailand Invests THB 2 Billion to Expand Saraburi Plant, Strengthening Beverage Portfolio to Meet Evolving Consumer Demand

Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of beverages under the Suntory and PepsiCo brands in Thailand, continues to advance its “Must Win” strategy with an investment of over THB 2 billion to install two new production lines at its Saraburi Plant. The expansion aims to enhance production capabilities through advanced technologies, support portfolio transformation across a broader range of beverage categories, and drive insulated long term by efficient operations and fostering sustainability. This strategic investment reinforces the company’s vision of becoming “the Most Beloved Beverage Company in Thailand with True Gemba Centricity.”

The Saraburi Plant expansion is a key part of Suntory PepsiCo Thailand’s strategy to strengthen its operational readiness and increase production capacity in line with the long-term growth of Thailand’s beverage market, which is projected to grow by 3% over the next three years. The company has invested over THB 2 billion in two high-efficiency production lines to strengthen manufacturing capabilities. The new lines will support ready-to-drink tea and coffee products, including TEA+ and BOSS Coffee, which have now transitioned to in-house production at the Saraburi Plant. All production continues to adhere to Suntory’s Japanese manufacturing standards, supported by advanced technologies and rigorous quality control systems. At the same time, the expansion also increases production capacity for Pepsi and other carbonated soft drinks to meet rising consumer demand. In addition, the expanded production lines will enhance agility in new beverage innovation and provide greater flexibility to support future expansion into other product categories.

Mr. Mattias Wallin, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said,“ For Suntory PepsiCo Thailand, driving business growth must go hand in hand with operational excellence and responsibility toward society and the environment. The expansion of two new production lines at our Saraburi Plant, which have now commenced commercial operations, represents a strategic investment that enhances manufacturing efficiency and strengthens the resilience of our supply chain over the long term. By adopting state-of-the-art production technologies while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing environmental impact, the two new production lines deliver a combined capacity of more than 1,500 bottles per minute, increasing the Saraburi plant’s overall production capability by up to 800 million liters per year. This enhanced operational readiness not only supports our future business growth objectives, but also reaffirms our commitment to building a strong foundation for sustainable growth in line with our corporate value of ‘Growing for Good,’ which we have consistently upheld.”

Mr. Akira Nojima, Vice President of Manufacturing, Saraburi Plant, Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., added, “Production Lines 5 and 6 at the Saraburi Plant were designed with a focus on elevating beverage quality from upstream to downstream. Both lines are equipped with advanced automation technologies that enable precise control across every production stage—from PET bottle molding, mixing, bottling, capping, and labeling, through final packing and palletizing—to ensure efficiency, consistency, and readiness for standardized distribution. For Production Line 5, which supports ready-to-drink tea and coffee products, the company has implemented a fully closed and aseptic production system throughout the process. This includes a special extraction technique of ‘Brewed Hot – Chilled Fast’, which combines hot brewing followed by rapid cooling processes for tea leaves and roasted coffee beans to preserve product quality, lock in its natural aroma, and deliver a taste that closely resembles freshly brewed beverages, while meeting international food safety standards. Importantly, both production lines are designed for efficient energy and resource utilization, integrating technologies that reduce environmental impact, such as low-pressure aseptic bottle blowers that support the use of recycled plastic, advanced water and energy management systems that reduce losses throughout the production process, and the use of solar energy. These initiatives reflect our commitment to enhancing product quality while conducting our business in a responsible and sustainable manner.”
