Suntory PepsiCo organizes ‘Water Train the Trainer’ a program for teachers in 3 provinces

Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) co., Ltd., continues its corporate philosophy of ‘Mizu To Ikiru’ or ‘Living with Water’ by partnering with Raks Thai Foundation organized two days ‘Water Train the Trainer’ program. The aim is to equipped teachers and local officials in 3 province - Rayong, Saraburi, and Chiang Mai, with knowledge on water resources management and water conservation so that they can be a mentor and pass this important agenda down to students in their schools and communities. The two-day program is where activities and knowledge are shared on water conservation in schools including the development of creative thinking processes, designed & production of learning materials, develop teaching tools & techniques, and guideline for Student’s Water Project development.

Water Education Youth Camp aims to educate and take action on water conversation

Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Raks Thai Foundation or ‘Water Education Youth Camp’ for students in Patom 4-6 and Matayom 1-3. The aim is to educate, understanding on water conservation and take action through learning process in the form of learning-based activities related to water resources. The program designed and focused on participatory learning, planning & analysis, along with building skills in group work. The activities were recreational and learning based activities on water such as the water cycle, water & daily life, school water resources map, problems & causes related to water in school, school water detective, community water survey & mapping, physical & biological water quality measurement, and water purification by various methods. At the end of the program, Students had to present their school water conservation project and work plan.

Perseveration of Thailand’s upstream waterway and forest in a sustainable manner is the goal

Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., has been partnering with "Raks Thai Foundation" to conserve water resources and the environment and rehabilitate the watershed forests by building check dams, planting trees, planting vetiver grass and seedlings that have encroached and degraded forests in Mae Suek watershed areas at Baan Huay Pak Kood, Mae Chaem District & Chiang Mai Province. This endeavor is aimed at elevating the quality of life for people in these areas by improving their water quality, access to clean water, and creating awareness in protecting the environment.
The cooperation has been helping rehabilitate and preserve Thailand’s upstream waterway and forest in a sustainable manner including education of local teachers and school children on water conservation by raising their awareness of the special programs. -

Commitment to ‘Mizu To Ikiru’

Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd.’s employees are committed to Mizu To Ikiru and recently, employees together with top management put “Mizu To Ikiru” philosophy into practice. Recently, over 100 employees and villagers from Baan Huay Pak Kood villagers took part in Check Dam Construction and Restoration Activity. These check dams are significant to the ecosystem of the forest, which will help slow the water flow and help conserve a higher hydration level. It will also keep the soil from washing away and when a forest area is well hydrated, the chance of forest fires being successfully it will decrease.
